Sounds of Love

That sound you hear? It’s the layered sound of LOVE. The LOVE TUNNEL is split into four sections: Love Sick, Love’s Memory, Rooted Love, and Dark Love. Each section has its own track, which overflows into the others. All four tracks are designed to layer on top of each other, and are built around 4 different heart BPMs.

Heart Tunnel

Storytime. So much love happens in the love tunnel. In fact, a super-sweet marriage proposal (by one of our star volunteers) took place in this very spot on the opening night of Mix-Tape!

Stuffed Animals

Did you know? These 136 stuffed animals were all donated by kids of all ages from all over Oklahoma. Our art team cleaned them, sanitized them, and deconstructed them. Now these pre-loved plushies are one of the warmest, fuzziest, most-beloved sections of the LOVE tunnel.

Lovesick Fair Food

Sometimes love can be so sweet, you can feel a little love sick. That topsy turvy feeling is a bit like a carnival, and all this fair food was handmade by our artist team to represent that feeling.

Book Tunnel

Over 1,500 books make up the warm, rosy, Love’s Memory section of the love tunnel, all donated by Hall Estill law firm in OKC. This portion of the love tunnel is all about that nostalgic feeling of looking back on loves past.

Objects of Love’s Memory

Storytime. Once upon a time during Mix-Tape construction, a member of our art team brought her cheese grater to make lunch onsite. She left it overnight. It was (of course) mistaken for art, spray-painted rose gold, and is now memorialized forever in our beloved book tunnel, where objects of nostalgia trigger gold-leafed memories.

Love’s Roots

Each of the root veggies in the ROOTED LOVE section were hand stitched and painted by our artist team. They represent the grounding effect of the people we have loved the longest, and how they give us roots.

Rooted Love Dioramas

The dioramas in Rooted Love depict love stories of root vegetables, including carrot and potato. They have travelled the world together, and have never been more in love.

Dark Love

Sometimes love can get a little dark and twisty. These hundreds of valentines, ranging from sweet to obsessive, were each handmade by our artists and our awesome army of volunteers.
