Factory Obscura Announces Fund to Support Arts Education

Factory Obscura, a collaborative company based in Oklahoma City, has announced a new fund to support art and arts education. Applications are now being accepted on their website, encouraging a wide range of possible projects which incorporate the arts as essential to learning and creative expression. Both organizations and individuals are eligible to apply, with a deadline of April 15, 2024.

While they are best known for their immersive, interactive art experiences, at their heart Factory Obscura has a mission to do good. As a for-profit B-corporation, they have dedicated a portion of their profits to support arts education in all its forms. The announcement of the grant fund is a new addition to the company’s already well-established field trip program, offering free admission to all public schools.

“When we first formed our company in 2017, it was important to us that we establish a structure that would benefit our community in the long term,” said Kelsey Karper, Factory Obscura Co-Founder and Director of Logistical Creativity. “That’s why we incorporated as a B-corporation, to make clear that central to our mission is support for art and artists, and these grants are a part of that.”

“We support the capital A in STEAM Education,” said Tammy Greenman, Factory Obscura Co-Founder and Director of Strategic Creativity. “We recognize that when we collaborate we can build something larger and much more equitable for ourselves and our future world. This is the first of many funding opportunities we hope to announce and we can’t wait to see what our community proposes.”
