Mix-Tape: Safety Protocols
As we prepare to reopen the Mix-Tape experience, the Factory Obscura team is taking every possible precaution to keep our staff and participants safe. Below, you’ll find a detailed outline of all the measures we are taking. We are continuing to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely, and updating our protocols in response to the latest guidelines.
The number of people inside the Mix-Tape experience is limited. See our full reopening plan for details about allowed group size, which varies based on reopening phase.
Everyone inside the Mix-Tape building - including staff and guests - is required to wear a mask.
Hand sanitizing stations are located throughout the building. All guests will be asked to sanitize or wash hands on arrival, and continue to do so frequently throughout your visit. Disposable gloves are also provided, but are optional.
Once reopening criteria have been met, Mix-Tape will only open by advance reservation. No walk-in ticket sales will be allowed. Doors will remain closed and locked to the public.
We encourage attendance with only members of the same household, or people you are already in close contact with. If you or anyone in your household has experienced any of the following symptoms in the last 14 days, please contact us to reschedule your reservation. Symptoms include: fever, persistent dry cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, or other symptoms associated with COVID-19.
Gift shop purchases are card only, no cash will be accepted. After each transaction, countertops and point-of-sale equipment will be sanitized.
“Sneeze guard” windows have been installed at gift shop counter and box office.
Factory Obscura is working with OKC-based company Beyond Disinfectant for regular, thorough disinfection of the entire building, including the art experience, lobby, gift shop, bathrooms and staff break rooms. This hospital-grade treatment provides 99.999% sanitization, is non-toxic, and provides a space that is germ free, odor free, and allergen free. The product works immediately, and keeps working for up to 10 days.
Staff are continuously sanitizing high-touch surfaces such as counter tops, handrails, door knobs, buttons, crawling areas, etc. We use an all-purpose sanitizer that is safe on all surfaces, and non-toxic for people.
While the Mix-Tape experience is designed for touching, interaction, and exploration, we will be making some temporary adjustments to reduce unnecessary contacts. For example, curtains will be tied back and doors will be propped open wherever possible.
While inside the Mix-Tape experience, please make every attempt to adhere to social distancing guidelines, including at least 6 feet of distance between people who are not members of the same household.
The Mix-Tape experience will close for up to 1.5 hours in the middle of each day, and reservations will not be available for this timeframe. This mid-day break allows our staff to complete a thorough sanitation of the space, and to take personal breaks for lunch and hygiene.
Staff will take hourly breaks for hand washing and relief from protective gear.
Gift shop and box office agents sanitize counter, equipment, and high-touch areas after every transaction or guest interaction.
Staff will perform temperature checks twice per day, using a touchless thermometer. Temperature checks will happen on arrival, and again mid-shift. Any staff member with a temperature above 100.4 degrees will be sent home. Employees may return when they have maintained a normal temperature for at least 72 hours, without the use of medicine for fever reduction, and other symptoms have improved, and at least 7 days have passed since symptoms first appeared.
