Amber Rae Black was born and raised in Oklahoma where she began a pursuit in visual and tactile mediums such as portraiture, drawing, painting, sculpture, and soft sculpture. As one of Factory Obscura’s founding artists she has contributed to all of their experiences to date from conceptualization to fabrication and installation. She is a maker of things. @bambierae
Emma Difani is a visual and installation artist and arts educator based in Oklahoma City. She received her BFA with an emphasis in printmaking from the University of New Mexico in 2014. In 2019, Emma co-founded Connect:Collect, an annual international print exchange seeking to highlight and connect printmakers in Oklahoma with artists around the world. Her work uses the obsessive layering of printmaking to examine the complex relationships between the natural and constructed environments. @EmmaDifani | emmadifani.com
Tammy Greenman is a co-founder and Director of Strategic Creativity for Factory Obscura. She is an experiential artist focused on facilitating and collaborating with the artist team to create emotionally immersive experiences where all people are free and encouraged to fully engage with their feelings as they explore and experience our work.
Jasmine Jones is a multidisciplinary artist and maker from Midwest City, Oklahoma. Through her art she traverses through various ideas, methods, and materials that she sees fit - working with concepts such as spirituality, chains of memory, and interaction. In working both collaboratively and solo, she creates to show that art can be interactive, immersive, healing, beneficial, and so much more – to show that people can find curiosity or beauty striking at any moment.
Barney Karper is a multi-talented maker, with skills and experience in electronics, technology, sound, lighting, and more. Barney has been contributing his tech skills to Factory Obscura’s work since its founding in 2017.
Kelsey Karper is a co-founder and Director of Logistical Creativity for Factory Obscura. Her creative practice is focused on projects that build community and create new opportunities for artists. Her practice is informed by her previous work with the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition, and as co-founder of Current Studio, a temporary art space in Oklahoma City that experimented with new models for artist support.
Laurent Massenat is a Co-Founder and Director of Structural Creativity. Thanks to his experience as Professional Engineer and Entrepreneur, he creates the business models, financial budgets and project management models. Thanks to years of experience working with the most prestigious Architects in the City, his strong suit is to bridge the gap between artistic vision, structural realities and business environment. As co-founder he collaborates on ensuring that Factory Obscura stays true to its mission and vision.
Beatriz Mayorca is a Venezuelan-born artist and interior designer based in Oklahoma City since 2005. As a multimedia artist, she has developed different art forms, with a prominent inclination throughout public artworks that convey community voices. Seeing the world as a 3D canvas, she mingles creativity and human-centered designs to immerse people into spaces that bring back pleasant memories and emotions. Graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Central Oklahoma; today, she is the founder, artist, and designer of B Mayorca, Art & Design Studio. Chris McDaniel is an artist based in Norman, Oklahoma. His works are crisp and colorful abstractions that emphasize flow and process. With roots in painting and drawing, Chris is currently focused on 3D works such as costumes and sculptures made primarily from reclaimed materials.
Ann McDermott is a fiber artist in Norman, OK.
Hugh Meade is a co-founder of Factory Obscura and his background in construction and fabrication helps lead the artist team from conceptual designs to real-world objects and environments. Hugh’s personal artistic philosophy and practice combines the ethics and aesthetics of the Arts and Crafts movement of the early twentieth century with contemporary technologies and materials to create entirely new forms and functional objects. Collaboration with other artists and creatives has been an important part of Hugh’s approach to his craft and has expanded the scope and reach of his work. Faye Miller is an artist who lives and works in Oklahoma City. Her work is inspired by her education in Landscape Architecture and memory of place. In her work she reinterprets the world as she remembers it; drawing on colors, textures, and layers to complete intricate recollections of spaces. She works primarily with acrylic on canvas but likes to dabble in many other mediums, including collage, textiles, printmaking, and sculpture. She has exhibited work at The Art Hall, The Paseo Arts and Creativity Center, and most recently had a solo show at Equity Brewing.
Dan Moyer is an animator, sound maker, and super cool dad who has lived in Oklahoma City for a little over a decade. His art can be found at danielmoyer.net, and his music can be found at soundcloud.com/dantronmctrondan.
Laura Phillips-Shinn is a co-founder and Director of Connectivity for Factory Obscura. Her focus is creating supportive environments and connections within the organization and surrounding communities.
Robin Orbach Starke has been a working artist since 1987 after graduating from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY with a B.S. in Studio Art, and minor in Art History. In 1989, Starke attended The Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Skowhegan, ME. She went as a painter and left as a painter who builds steel sculpture. Her work is included in museum and private collections across the country. She loves learning new methods and ideas about making art and enriching people's lives through it.
