Teddi Fokas + Amber Rae Black

Amber and Teddi are Factory Obscura artists, and the masterminds behind a new temporary art experience called DOORWAYS. This immersive installation was created in collaboration with Factory Obscura.

We did an interview with Amber & Teddi about the inspiration behind DOORWAYS.

What inspired you to collaborate on DOORWAYS?

This credit really goes to Teddi, she approached me (Amber) with a pandemic safe hotel hallway idea and we began to brainstorm concepts from there.

What strengths do each of you bring to the table?

Having worked so much with Factory Obscura in the past, I bring practical installation experience as well as a love of the process, concept to execution. And having worked with Teddi on several of those projects, I knew we could do something special together. She’s super talented with an editing eye and speaks her mind. We share a lot of the same interests in mediums and mesh really well aesthetically. We made a good team.

What feelings do you hope DOORWAYS conveys to guests?

Wonder in the face of adversity, discovery of magic through darkness, we hope you go on a little journey and leave feeling good about it.

If DOORWAYS was a song, what would it be?

We have two! Monster Mash and Song of the Siren.
