OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – Like a dream, the landscape of time, Factory Obscura style, is filled with strange creatures like huge, purring space llamas.
“They will welcome you into Time Slip,” smiles artist Kelsey Karper.
If they seem familiar, our guide Kelsey advises calm because you’ve probably been through one of their previous experiences.
She points out, “This sculpture a lot of people will recognize from our very first experience, Shift, in 2017.”
A trip through Time Slip offers many such deja vu moments.
Past is mixed with present in weird ways here.
The exhibit is a 3,000 square foot new addition to what they offer, a separate experience to their Mixtape adventure, but something they’d like to connect with in the future.
Karper says, “Our ultimate dream is to build something large and permanent in there.”
You can do a lot with high ceilings and a whole warehouse full of rooms.
A labyrinth connects different times and levels along the way.
17 different artists created touchable textures and lots of interactive stuff.
Their future includes technology and nature combined in an airplane fuselage.
“To create a new life form,” says Karper.
A tunnel into the present invites participants to think about all they’ve seen and leave messages for what’s to come.
“We never run out of ideas,” she laughs.
Future plans include making permanent use of this extra space inside the Factory Obscura building.
What that will look like might include some of what you see here, and a lot more of what the artists are able to dream up.
